Bakersfield Condors News Release

Bakersfield, CA - G Bryan Pitton made 41 saves to lead the Stockton Thunder (11-14-1-2, 25 points) to a 3-1 victory over the Bakersfield Condors (18-8-2-0, 38 points) in front of 6,570 fans at Rabobank Arena Saturday night. The Condors record-setting home winning streak ends at 10 games - it had been 56 days since the last loss on home ice for the Condors.

Stockton took a 1-0 lead when C Chris D'Alvise scored at 9:20 of the first period. The Condors countered on the power play to make it 1-1. D Sasha Pokulok made a slap pass to F Stephane Goulet, who made no mistake with the puck in front, tucking it home for his ninth goal of the season.

In the second period, the Thunder took a 2-1 lead at 3:56 on the power play. RW Kelly Czuy wristed home his 2nd of the season from the slot to put the Thunder back in front. Bakersfield, meanwhile, out-shot Stockton 14-3 in the period, and held a 29-10 lead in the game through two, but Pitton kept them at bay.

The final period moved quickly, with only two penalties called in the frame and not another goal until the waning moments, when LW Igor Gongalsky notched an empty-net goal for the Thunder to provide the final margin. Pitton earned the first star on the night, earning the win despite his team being out-shot 42-16.
