Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Ben Gordon has been loaned to the Marlies. Gordon, a second year pro from International Falls, Minnesota, leads the Royals with forty points (16g-24a) in twenty-eight games, which places him tied for second in ECHL scoring. Gordon, who was selected as the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week last week, is currently riding a five game point streak (5g-8a). Last night, in a 6-3 loss to the Elmira Jackals, Gordon racked up his fifth straight multi-point game for Reading (1g-1a). He leads the team with sixteen multi-point performances this season. This marks the second call up for Gordon, who played two games with the Providence Bruins in late October.

The Royals travel to Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, New Jersey today (Sunday, December 27, 2009 @ 5:00 pm) to take on the Trenton Devils for the seventh time this season. Reading's game night broadcast on Sunday on the Royals Radio Network presented by Transmissions by Arbogast will kick off at 4:30 pm.
