Griffins to practice at Georgetown Ice Center

WHAT: Grand Rapids Griffins Caravan in Hudsonville, Mich.

WHERE: Georgetown Ice Center – 8500 48th Avenue

WHEN: Monday, Oct. 18 from 7-9 p.m.

Hockey fans in Allendale, Holland, Hudsonville, Jenison, Zeeland and communities throughout Ottawa County will have a unique opportunity to watch the Griffins practice at the brand-new Georgetown Ice Center and meet the players and coaches.

The Griffins will conduct a practice session from 7-8 p.m. that is free and open to the public. Afterwards, Griffins players will skate with and sign autographs for fans. In addition, youth hockey coaches are invited to a special reception with Griffins coaches.

All fans can enjoy a free hot dog, chips and pop. Griff, the team mascot, will be on hand, and Griffins rosters, schedules and ticket information will be available.

The event will mark the fifth consecutive season that the Griffins hold a public practice session outside of Grand Rapids, following events at The Edge in Holland (Oct. 2000 and Jan. 2004), Ferris State University in Big Rapids (Nov. 2001) and Michigan State University in East Lansing (Oct. 2002).

DIRECTIONS:

From Grand Rapids, take Lake Michigan Drive west. After GVSU, turn left (south) onto 48th Avenue. The arena is located approx. 3.3 miles on the left.

From Jenison, take Baldwin Street west. Turn right (north) onto 48th Avenue. The arena is located approx. 1.2 miles on the right.
