Griffins to open with a Foremost bang

Time: 7:30 p.m. at Van Andel Arena (doors open at 6:30 p.m.)

Tickets: Available at The Zone and all Star Tickets Plus outlets, including West Michigan Meijer stores. Charge by phone at (616) 222-4000 / (800) 585-3737. Purchase online at griffinshockey.com.

Prices: $5 (advance purchase only), $13, $15, $17, $20 and $25.

Opening Night: As a part of Griffins Opening Night, presented by Foremost Insurance, the first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive a pair of Foremost CheerStix, and all fans will receive a Griffins magnetic schedule.

Pre-Game Ceremony: An on-ice laser light and pyrotechnics show will provide the pre-game entertainment.

Intermissions: World famous Lou "Simon Says" Goldstein will entertain the crowd during one intermission, while the Griffins Amateur Hockey League's GRAHA Squirt AA team will hit the ice during the other.

Friday Fun Fest: Every Friday night there will be live music, games and activities on the arena concourse for the entire family to enjoy! An Irish music band, Craic Wisely, will be featured.

Throw for Dough: Lake Michigan Credit Union offers fans the opportunity to win up to $5,000. Throughout the night, fans can purchase red balls for $1 and green balls for $3 apiece. At the conclusion of the game, a target will be placed at center ice. Fans can throw the balls at the target for a chance to win up to $5,000. Proceeds from the event will benefit Grand Rapids Christian High School's hockey program.

GAHL Invasion: All of the players involved in the Griffins Amateur Hockey League will be in attendance, totaling approximately 700 people. The participating players will wear their jerseys, representing their respective Griffins Amateur Hockey League teams from Battle Creek, Cadillac, East Grand Rapids, Ft. Wayne, Forest Hills, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Kentwood, Lansing, Mount Pleasant, Muskegon, Rockford and Traverse City.
