Three Greenville pitchers combined to shut out Lexington on eight hits, and Reynaldo Rodriguez hit two long home runs as the Drive blanked the Legends 5-0 Tuesday night at Applebee's Park.

The Drive scored in the first inning without a hit. Derrik Gibson led off with a walk, stole second, went to third on an infield out and came home on a wild pitch by Legends starter Tanner Bushue.

Rodriguez made it 2-0 when he led off the top of the fourth with a long home run to left field.

The Drive, who had just five hits in the game, scored again without a hit in the sixth. Jeremy Hazelbaker led off with a walk, and Rodriguez was hit by a pitch. Christian Vazquez struck out, but a ground ball by Vladimir Frias got through third baseman Jonathan Meyer for an error, and Hazelbaker scored from second to give Greenville a 3-0 lead.

Rodriguez closed out the scoring in the eighth with his second home run, a two-run blast that followed Hazelbaker's leadoff single.

Greenville reliever Chris Court (5-0), who entered the game in the fourth inning, pitched four innings and got the win. He allowed four hits, walked one and struck out three. Starter Kendal Volz allowed two hits over the first three innings, and Anatanaer Batista worked the eighth and ninth, giving up two hits and a walk. He fanned two.

Greenville and Lexington will meet again Wednesday night at Applebee's Park. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Attendance at Applebee's Park: 4,311
