WEEK IN REVIEW (Home team in CAPS):

Tuesday, Aug. 10

Hickory 2 vs. GREENSBORO 0

After allowing consecutive singles to the first two Greensboro batters, 'Dads starter RHP Jake Brigham retired the next 26 consecutive batters, recording all 27 outs without allowing another baserunner. It marked the second time a Crawdad has tossed a complete game shutout this season, and was Brigham's second complete game of the campaign as well.

Thursday, Aug. 12

HICKORY 8 vs. Charleston 7After the RiverDogs jumped out to a 6-2 lead through the first 4.5 innings, the Crawdads came racing back with five runs in the bottom of the fifth to erase the deficit and take a 7-6 lead. 3B Matt West capped the inning with a two-run homer to left-center field. RHP Braden Tullis picked up the win with RHP Ovispo De Los Santos notching his third save.

Friday, Aug. 13

Charleston 18 vs. HICKORY 4

RiverDogs C J.R. Murphy paced the Charleston attack, connecting for a grand slam and three-run home run, finishing the night 3-for-6 with nine RBIs and three runs scored. Hickory plated a pair of runs in the fifth and the eighth, but fell by the lopsided final.

Saturday, Aug. 14

Charleston 10 vs. HICKORY 5

With Hickory ahead, 5-2, through the first seven innings, the RiverDogs rallied for eight runs in the eighth frame to take a 10-5 lead. The inning was interrupted with one out and the bases loaded by an hour and 27-minute rain delay. 3B Matt West clubbed his 11th home run of the season. RHP Johan Yan took the loss in relief for the Crawdads.

Sunday, Aug. 15

Charleston 8 vs. HICKORY 4

3B Matt West and CF Jared Bolden each hit a home run for Hickory, but it wasn't enough to match the RiverDogs late offense, plating five runs over the final two innings to help secure the victory. LHP Chad Bell was saddled with the loss for Hickory in just his second start for the Crawdads this season.

Monday, Aug. 16

Charleston 5 vs. HICKORY 0

After neither squad scored through five frames, the RiverDogs plated a run in the sixth inning and four more in the seventh. RHP Jake Brigham was tagged with the loss, despite surrendering only one earned run (five overall), while striking out eight in 6.2 innings.
