CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Tuesday that Charleston RiverDogs right-handed pitcher Jose A. Ramirez has been placed on the DL, retroactive to August 15.
Ramirez has appeared in 22 games with the RiverDogs thus far this season, including 21 starts and one relief appearance. The Yaguate, Dominican Republic native has posted a 6-5 record with a 3.60 ERA, giving up 106 hits, 46 earned runs and 42 walks, with 105 strikeouts, in a total of 115.0 innings on the mound. The 20-year-old's 105 fans leads the team in the category. The right-hander was named the No. 20 prospect in the Yankees organization prior to the 2010 season by Baseball America.
