
Goaltender David LeNeveu Loaned to Providence

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that goaltender David LeNeveu has been loaned to the team's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Providence Bruins.
LeNeveu, 30, appeared in six games with the Stingrays earning a 3-3-0 record, 1.85 goals-against average, .933 save percentage and two shutouts. Over a nine-year North American professional career, the Fernie, British Columbia, native skated in 307 AHL games with the Utah Grizzlies, Springfield Falcons, San Antonio Rampage, Hartford Wolf Pack, Iowa Chops and Oklahoma City Barons picking up a 121-149-26 record with a 2.78 goals-against average and .909 save percentage. Last season, LeNeveu dressed in 30 games with Linz EHC in Austria.
A second-round selection (46th overall) by the Phoenix Coyotes in 2002 National Hockey League Entry Draft, LeNeveu competed in 22 NHL contests with the Phoenix Coyotes and Columbus Blue Jackets registering a 5-9-2 record with a 3.43 goals-against average and .877 save percentage. He made his NHL debut with the Coyotes on October 6, 2005 suffering a 3-2 loss against the Los Angeles Kings and later recorded his first NHL win on October 25 in a 5-4 overtime decision over the St. Louis Blues in Phoenix.
The Stingrays travel the to the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina to take on the Greenville Road Warriors tonight at 7:00 and return to the North Charleston Coliseum tomorrow, Saturday, December 28 to host the Wheeling Nailers on Holiday Holdover Troops Night presented by the USO and Verizon Wireless.
