Colorado Eagles News Release

LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles (17-7-3-2) fell to the Utah Grizzlies (8-14-1-2 ), 2-1, on Friday night at the Budweiser Events Center. In front of a sold-out crowd, the Eagles honored captain Riley Nelson on scoring his 300th goal for the Colorado Eagles last weekend. The first goal came, while Colorado was on a 5-on-3 power play, from Eagles forward Kevin Ulanski with just over ten minutes left in the second frame. The goal extended Ulanski's scoring streak to seven straight games, while Trent Daavettila's assist on the goal gives him points in 10 straight games. Utah retaliated, 16:27 into the second, when they took advantage of a 5-on-3 power play as forward Jamie MacQueen sent a one-timer past Eagles netminder Marc Cheverie to tie the score 1-1.

With less than seven minutes left in the third frame Grizzlies forward Danick Paquette found the back of the net on another Utah power-play to put the Grizzlies ahead 2-1. Colorado attempted to rally from the 2-1 deficit but was unsuccessful, as Utah triumphed with a final score of 2-1.
