Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. - Playing their first game after nine days off, the Las Vegas Wranglers fell 4-3 to the Bakersfield Condors tonight despite a three-goal third period comeback attempt.
Condors left wing Chris Collins put the team on the board with a power play goal at the 14:06 mark of the first. An early second period goal from Condors center Joel Broda made it a 2-0 game, and after 40 minutes, Bakersfield held the 3-0 advantage on a goal from center Gary Steffes.
Wranglers left wing Adam Huxley denied Condors (G) Laurent Brossoit's shutout attempt with a goal 2:55 into the third. To make it a one-goal game, Wranglers center John Armstrong found the back of Bakersfield's net, but Condors left wing Michael Neal responded 1:32 later to give the home team the 4-2 lead. Wranglers defenseman Nolan Julseth-White posted his second goal of the season less than a minute later, but the Condors held on for the 4-3 win. In the loss, Wranglers (G) Mitch O'Keefe made 27 saves as Bakersfield outshot Las Vegas 31-23.
The Wranglers return home on Friday, Dec. 27, and Saturday, Dec. 28, for two games against the Idaho Steelheads. On Saturday, the first 1,000 kids age 12 and under will receive a free t-shirt for "Pauko Taco Night," and if Wranglers team captain (C) Geoff Paukovich registers a goal or an assist, everyone in attendance will get a voucher for a free Del Taco taco.
