El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

Michael Gettys homered twice in the El Paso Chihuahuas' 7-5 win over the Salt Lake Bees Saturday night at Southwest University Park. The Chihuahuas and Bees have split the first two games of the four-game series.

Gettys' first home run began the bottom of the first, becoming the first Chihuahuas player since Luis Urias on April 6, 2019 to lead off an El Paso first inning with a home run. It gave the Chihuahuas a first inning run for the 10th time in their last 14 games. Gettys became the 11th El Paso player to hit multiple home runs in a game since April 16th.

Boog Powell went 3-for-4 with two RBIs in his second home game with El Paso. The Chihuahuas' bullpen held the Bees from scoring in the final four innings Saturday. Each of the last six Chihuahuas games have been decided by one or two runs.
