THE STORY COMING IN

The Medicine Hat Tigers once again were able to claw their way into overtime last night in Moose Jaw, but ultimately fell to a late powerplay goal in the extra frame. It was a back and forth affair all night long with the Tabbies getting markers from Corson Hopwo (4), Dan Baker (2), and Noah Danielson (4). Garin Bjorklund was once again solid net stopping 26 shots and making a couple of play of the week worthy stops.

The Blades are also coming off a 4-3 loss last night, having surrendered three straight goal to the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Jayden Wiens had pair of first period goals and Kyle Crnkovic notched his team high 8th goal of the campaign in the loss. Nolan Maier stopped 30 of 34 shots he faced.

TIGERS VS BLADES

The Orange and Black will be looking for a different result tonight, as the last time these two met the Blades were able to hold the Tigers off the board and earn a 4-0 win in Saskatoon. Over the past five seasons the Tigers are 3-5-0-1 against the Blades. The Tigers currently sit 4th in the Central Division and 7th in the Eastern Conference, while the Blades are 2nd in the East Division and 2nd in the Eastern Conference. Special teams will be important tonight with the Blades holding the slight edge in percentages. The Blades PP has converted 27.5% of their chances while the Tigers have scored on 25% of their opportunities.

SASKATOON BLADES

The Saskatoon Blades wrap up a two-in-two trip into Alberta with the finale in Medicine Hat against the Tigers. Saskatoon's loss last night in Lethbridge is just the second regulation loss of the season for the Blades since the kicked off the 2021-22 campaign. This is the first time the Saskatoon Blades have been to Co-op Place since November 30, 2019 - A stretch of 700 days - when the Tigers topped the Blades 5-3.

WHO TO WATCH - TIGERS

Noah Danielson, only 10 games into his third full season with the Tigers has already set a new career high in goals with 4. The 2002 born Red Deer, AB product has goals in 3 of his last 4 outings, including a goal with only 90 ticks left on the clock in Moose Jaw last night to send the Tigers to overtime. The 5'9 forward is at home in the faceoff circle or on the wing and has a nose for the net.

WHO TO WATCH - BLADES

Tristen Robins (SJ - RD2, 56) is in his fifth and final season with the Saskatoon Blades and is definitely leading the way by example. The 20-year-old centre from Clear Lake, AB has 19 points (7G, 12A) in 9 games and is currently averaging 2.11 points per game this season. Robins possesses an incredible work ethic and never shys away from the corners.
