The Winnipeg ICE saw their season opening winning streak come to an end Friday night at Rogers Place in Edmonton as the Oil Kings scored three unanswered goals in the third period en route to a 3-1 victory.

Connor McClennon's team leading 10th goal of the season, and third power play goal of the year, gave the ICE a 1-0 lead in the first period.

There was no scoring after that until 3:28 into the final frame when Dylan Guenther tied the game. Carson Latimer scored the game winning goal at 11:42, while Jaxsen Wiebe sealed the win with an empty netter.

Sebastian Cossa made 26 saves for the win, while Gage Alexander stopped 21/23.

The ICE conclude their five game road trip Saturday in Lethbridge (7:30 on CFRW 1290) against the Hurricanes.
