The Winnipeg ICE are in Seattle for a 9:00 face off tonight against the Thunderbirds in Game Four of the WHL Championship Series presented by Nutrien.
The ICE are coming off a 6-3 loss last night and now trail the best of seven series 2-1. Carson Latimer, Zach Benson and Zack Ostapchuk scored. Daniel Hauser made 16 saves over the first 40 minutes while Mason Beaupit stopped all 11 shots he faced in the third period.

Matthew Savoie was named the WHL Player of the Week and Daniel Hauser is the WHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending May 7, 2023.
Savoie, selected by the Buffalo Sabres ninth overall in the 2022 NHL Draft, recorded five points (1G-4A) over his two outings this past week. The product of St. Albert, Alta. began his week with a three-point effort Tuesday, May 2 at Saskatoon, scoring once and adding two assists as Winnipeg posted a 5-1 victory in Game 3 of the WHL Eastern Conference Championship presented by Nutrien. The following evening, the 19-year-old collected two assists as the ICE completed a four-game sweep of the Blades with a 3-2 victory.
Hauser earned his second consecutive weekly honour by posting a 1.50 goals-against average and .917 save percentage over two starts. The 19 year old began his week by turning aside 17 shots in Winnipeg's 5-1 Game 3 victory. Hauser then stopped 16 shots in a 3-2 ICE victory over the Blades, securing the Club's first berth in the WHL Championship Series since 2011.
Connor McClennon was named WHL Player of the Week and Daniel Hauser is the WHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending April 30, 2023.
McClennon led all WHL skaters with five goals, finishing the seven-day span with six points (five goals and one assist) in three games.
Hauser posted a 1.33 goals-against average, .944 save percentage and one shutout over his three appearances.
Zack Ostapchuk's penalty shot goal while shorthanded was the first in franchise history during Game #1 of the Eastern Conference Championship Series versus the Saskatoon Blades.
Ben Zloty set two new franchise records in Game #1 of the 2023 WHL playoffs. Zloty registered four assists, setting a new mark for assists and points by a defenceman in a playoff game. The previous record of three assists by a defenceman was shared by Cole Fischer, Brayden McNabb and Joey Leach. The previous record of three points by a defenceman was shared by Scott Roles, Cole Fischer, Gerard Dicaire, Brayden McNabb and Joey Leach.
Daniel Hauser has been named the WHL's East Division Goaltender of the Year and nominee for the Del Wilson Memorial Trophy awarded annually to the WHL Goaltender of the Year presented by Real Canadian Superstore.
Hauser set an ICE franchise record with 37 wins during the 2022-23 WHL Regular Season. The product of Chestermere, Alta. finished second among WHL netminders in victories, while also concluding the regular season in the top five among League goaltenders in goals-against average (2.28) and save percentage (.917). The 19-year-old's performance in goal helped spur Winnipeg to a Club-record 57 victories during the regular season, the most by any WHL team over a 68-game schedule.
The Western Hockey League also named Hauser the WHL Goaltender of the Month for the month of March. He recorded a 6-1-0-0 record over his seven regular season and playoff appearances in March to go along with a 2.01 goals-against average and .929 save percentage as the ICE secured the Club's second consecutive Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as WHL Regular Season Champions. Hauser limited his opponents to one goal on four occasions in March including during a First Round playoff preview March 7 versus the Medicine Hat Tigers and on back-to-back occasions against the Prince Albert Raiders March 18 and 19.

The ICE and Thunderbirds played once during the 2022-23 WHL regular season with Seattle winning 4-3 in overtime January 11th at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena. Matthew Savoie scored twice while Conor Geekie had the other goal. Daniel Hauser made 28 saves.

The ICE completed the 68 regular season schedule with a league best 57-10-1 record following a 5-3 decision over the Brandon Wheat Kings March 25th. Conor Geekie scored three goals and chipped in with two assists. Connor McClennon scored twice as the ICE completed a 10 game sweep of the Wheat Kings in the Battle of Manitoba presented by Taylor McCaffery Lawyers. Mason Beaupit made 24 saves.
A 3-1 victory March 7th versus Medicine Hat was Winnipeg's 50th of the season. The ICE are the first team to record back to back 50 win seasons since the Kelowna Rockets (2013-14, 2014-15).
With 115 points, the ICE set a new franchise record for points in a 68 game regular season schedule.
With 61 points on home ice, the ICE set a new franchise record for points on home ice. The previous record of 60 points in 34 games was set last season.
With 54 points on the road, the ICE set a new franchise record for points on the road. They eclipsed last season's 51 in 34 games.
With 57 wins, the ICE set a new franchise record for most wins in a single season eclipsing last season's 53.
With 57 wins, the ICE set a new WHL record for most wins by a team playing a 68 game regular season schedule. The previous record of 54 was held by the 2018-19 Prince Albert Raiders.
With 30 wins on home ice, the ICE set a new franchise and WHL record for home ice wins by a team playing a 68 game regular season schedule during the internet era. The previous record of 29 wins was set last season by the ICE and Edmonton Oil Kings.
With 27 wins on the road, the ICE set a WHL record for road wins by a team playing a 68 game regular season schedule during the internet era. The 2018-19 Prince Albert Raiders won 26 games.
With 27 wins on the road, the ICE set a new franchise record eclipsing last season's 24 wins in 34 games.
By scoring 325 goals this season, the ICE set a new franchise record eclipsing last season's 317.
By scoring 157 goals on the road this season the ICE have set a new franchise record eclipsing the previous record of 140 during the 2000-01 season.
Defenceman Ben Zloty set a new single season franchise record for assists and points by a defenceman. Zloty had 81 points (13 goals and 68 assists). The previous record of 71 points was held by Brayden McNabb during the 2010-11 season. Zloty's 68 assists is also a new single season franchise record for assists by a defenceman.
With 37 wins, Daniel Hauser set a new ICE franchise record for most wins by a goaltender in a single season. He eclipsed the previous record of 36 wins by Wyatt Hoflin in the 2014-15 season.
From October 12th to November 19th, the ICE set a new franchise record with a 15 game winning streak eclipsing the previous mark of 14 games held by the 2009-10 Kootenay ICE.
From October 15th to 22nd, Winnipeg became the first Eastern Conference based team to go a perfect 5-0 on the road versus the B.C. Division since the 2011-12 Kootenay ICE.
Carson Lambos was named the 24th Captain in ICE franchise history on October 6th.
The 19 year old returned from Minnesota Wild Training Camp where he appeared in three NHL preseason games. Connor McClennon, Owen Pederson and Ben Zloty were named alternate captains for 2022-23.
