Winnipeg Ice News Release
ICE CHIPS
Tonight is the final stop on a five game road trip for the ICE that opened last Saturday in Moose Jaw with a 5-4 victory over the Warriors. Winnipeg erased a 3-0 second period deficit thanks to a pair of goals from Matthew Savoie. The game winning goal came off the stick of Connor McClennon with 45 seconds remaining in regulation.
Tuesday, Skyler Bruce scored the game winning goal 1:48 into the third period to lead the ICE to a 3-1 win in Red Deer. Mikey Milne's power play goal and an empty netter by Connor McClennon, supported a 26 save performance by Gage Alexander.
Wednesday, Daniel Hauser made 27 saves and Conor Geekie broke a 2-2 tie with 3:54 remaining in regulation time to give the ICE a 3-2 victory in Calgary.
The ICE saw their season opening 11 game winning streak come to an end in Edmonton last night as the Oil Kings scored three unanswered goals in the third period in a 3-1 decision. Connor McClennon's team leading 10th goal of the season was the lone Winnipeg marker to beat goaltender Sebastian Cossa.
