THE MATCHUP
The South Carolina Stingrays host the Brampton Beast for the first time in team history this evening. Tonight's game also marks the first time the Stingrays have played a team from Canada in club history. The Beast, who enter the game at 14-20-6-3, sit in the 14th spot of the Eastern Conference. The Stingrays enter tonight's game coming off a 6-1 victory in Norfolk last Saturday night. Forward Marcus Perrier has points in four of his last five games, and goaltender Mark Dekanich turned in one of his best performances of the year last Saturday, stopping 37-of-38 shots in the win.
THRUSHING BACK
Forward Casey Thrush joins the Stingrays after being claimed off waivers from the Allen Americans and will wear #23. Thrush, 23, is in his rookie season. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Olney, Md. native registered three points (one goal, two assists) in 13 contests with the Allen Americans this season. He played his college hockey at the University of New Hampshire.
THIS GUY IS ON FIRE
Stingrays' forward Brandon Magee lit up the scoreboard last weekend on January 30 against the Norfolk Admirals. In the Stingrays' 6-1 win over the Admirals, Magee not only had a career high, but a team-best, five-point game with two goals and three assists. Magee was acquired from the Idaho Steelheads on January 20 and currently has six points with the Stingrays this season in his rookie year.
PACAN ROLL
Stingrays forward David Pacan has continued his hot hand of late. Has notched points in six straight games for the Stingrays. He recently had an overall five-game goal scoring streak snapped, but he has currently notched goals in four striaght games at the North Charleston Coliseum. Pacan also leads the team in goals (14), assists (20) and points (34).
PENALTY KILL
The South Carolina Stingrays are currently the league's best home penalty kill at 88.3% and their overall penalty kill is 84.7%, which is 11th overall.
MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT
APECS Aerospace and the South Carolina Stingrays are teaming up for our annual Military Appreciation Night tomorrow where the Stingrays wear special military-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game to benefit America's Mighty Warriors. The evening will also feature an appearance from Debbie Lee of America's Mighty Warriors. APECS would like to thank all the men and women serving our country in the armed forces.
