Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans (26-16-2-1) host the Utah Grizzlies (27-16-2-0) tonight at 7:05 pm at Allen Event Center, opening a two-game weekend.
It's Autograph Friday, brought to you by 97.5 KLAK, with Americans players Casey Pierro-Zabotel, Aaron Gens, Peter DiSalvo and Nolan Descoteaux signing autographs on the concourse following the game. The next Autograph Friday is March 18th, when the Alaska Aces visit Allen.
The Americans are coming off 2-1 victory over the Tulsa Oilers last Sunday. Allen is 3-2-0 in their last five games. The Americans are one point behind Utah for the second best record in the Western Conference, with both teams having played 45 games. The Americans are led by forward Chad Costello's 63 points, which also leads the ECHL in scoring.
"This is a big weekend for us," said Americans defenseman Aaron Gens. "Utah is right there with us in the Western Conference Standings and has played us tough this season, so tonight will be a great test for us. "
This will be the final regular season matchup between the two clubs, with the Americans winning the last meeting 7-3 on December 5th at Allen Event Center with the Americans holding a 3-2 season series advantage over the Grizzlies.
The Americans will also begin collecting items tonight for the tornado victims of North Texas with Allen Americans players' wives and girlfriends at the doors before the game to greet fans and take donations. Click here for a list of the items needed.
