
Eagles Shut Down Thunder on Go Red Night

Wichita, KS - In front of its largest crowd of the year on Go Red Night, Wichita (10-28-4-4) fell to Colorado (23-18-2-0) by the final score of 6-0 at INTRUST Bank Arena.
Eric Levine stopped all 36 shots he faced en route to his second shutout against the Thunder this season.
Wichita fell behind in the first period with the Eagles potting four goals in a seven-minute span. Kyle Ostrow found the net at 9:24. Kyle Kraemer followed that up with his 13th of the season at 12:51 to make it 2-0. At 15:19, Derek Rodwell got through a few defenders and beat David Shantz to make it 3-0. Shantz was lifted and Grant Rollheiser came on in relief. Johnny Lazo scored his 10th of the year less than a minute later putting the Eagles up 4-0.
Peter MacIntyre tallied his first of the season in the second to make it 5-0. The firing gallery continued with both teams eclipsing 29 shots apiece through 40 minutes.
Jake Marto closed out the scoring in the third at the six-minute mark with his sixth of the season.
Colorado takes the season-series, winning four-straight (4-2). Wichita helped raise awareness for the Go Red for Women's Heart Health Movement, honoring 10-year old Ashlyn Alumbaugh as its honorary captain. 8,226 fans took in the game, which is a season-high. Shantz suffers the loss, stopping 10 of 13 shots. Levine earns the win, claiming his fourth shutout of the season.
The Thunder went 0-for-4 on the power play. Colorado was 0-for-2 on the man advantage.
Wichita closes out the weekend with a road match-up at Allen tomorrow at 7:05 p.m.
