Last Game

Steve Michalek made 37 saves and four different Mallards scored as the host Mallards blanked the Rush 4-0 Wednesday night.

Breakthrough

Wednesday's win halted the Mallards' six-game winless streak (0-4-2). That skid was one game short of matching the team record for longest winless streak.

Homecoming

Wednesday's victory was the Mallards' first home game since a 7-2 loss to Kalamazoo on January 17 and their first home win a 3-2 overtime defeat of Kalamazoo on January 15.

By winning Wednesday, the Mallards reach 20 victories this season and moved back over .500.

Red Light District

The Mallards broke loose for four goals Wednesday after scoring two or fewer in six of their prior seven games.

Wednesday's shutout was Michalek's second of the season.

The Mallards Wednesday night enjoyed their largest margin of victory this season.

Leader of the Pack

By picking up an assist Wednesday night, Matt Neal became the first Mallard to reach 30 points this season. Neal also leads the Mallards in goals (12).

Top Trio

The line of Brady Brassart, Matt Carey and Kevin Henderson has produced goals in each of the Mallards' last four games. Brassart has recorded points in each of those four games (1-3-4) while Carey has recorded five points (two goals and three assists) over those four contests.

Streaking

Austin Coldwell has recorded 13 points (two goals and 11 assists) in his last 13 games.

Iron Mike

Mike Monfredo had a goal and an assist Wednesday night and is now tied for fourth among ECHL defensemen in assists (21) and tied for fifth in points (26).

Special Teams

The Mallards have killed off 22 of their opponents' last 24 power plays and rank third in the ECHL penalty killing (86.3 percent). The Mallards are rank fifteenth on the power play (16.5 percent).

Head to Head

The Mallards have gone 2-1-0 against the Rush this season. They have gone 23-12-3 all-time against Rapid City and have posted a 13-4-1 home record against the Rush. The Mallards will close out the season series with Rapid City when the Rush returns to the Quad Cities February 26 and 27.
