The Best Goal Celebration of the Year is BACK!
Following a year hiatus during the shortened 2020-21 season, Teddy Bear Toss makes its triumphant return to the VMC tonight! Fans are asked to bring teddy bears or other stuffed animals to throw onto the ice once the Winterhawks score their first goal. If you are bringing multiple stuffed animals, please bring them in a clear plastic bag.
After the bears are thrown onto the ice, Winterhawks staff will collect and count the bears, which will then be donated to local charities and children's hospitals. It's a great opportunity to spread some holiday cheer and get in on one of the most unique traditions in sports.
Arrive Early!
In anticipation of longer-than-usual wait times to get into the VMC, doors will open at 4:30 p.m. ahead of the 6 p.m. puck drop to give fans ample time to get through security with their teddy bears. Make sure to get here early so you don't miss a second of the action!
Hot Hawks
With an assist in last night's win over Spokane, Jaydon Dureau extended his point streak to eight games - the longest such streak of any Winterhawks player this season, surpassing Gabe Klassen's earlier seven-game point streak. Aidan Litke scored his seventh goal of the year as well, and marked a third consecutive outing with a goal. On the back end, Luca Cagnoni picked up an assist, and boasts points in each of his last five games played. The boys look to keep their hot streaks going in the rematch with Spokane tonight.
WIN A TOYOTA:
Back for another season, fans 18+ who reside in Oregon or Southwest Washington can ENTER TO WIN a brand new Toyota car, truck, or SUV.
Each game this season, one lucky fan will have their entry drawn and they will have a chance to win our grand prize if they get all five game predictions correct.
Tonight, we are cheering on: Rachel C. from Scappoose, OR
What our Hawks fan could win: A brand new 2021 Sienna
What needs to happen?
Portland Winterhawks (5) beat the Spokane Chiefs (2)
Luke Schelter scores the first Winterhawks goal.
Portland goaltenders make 33 total saves.
Spokane goaltenders make 29 total saves.
Good luck tonight, Rachel!
