
Pats Head to Westoba Place for First Road Meeting with Wheat Kings

Regina, Sask. - Tonight the Regina Pats (11-14-0) take on the Brandon Wheat Kings (13-13-1) at 7:00 p.m., at Westoba Place.
The Pats are coming off a 5-2 win over the Prince Albert Raiders on Friday in their Teddy Bear Toss game. Tanner Howe became the youngest Pat' to score a Teddy Bear Toss goal in team history, and the sixth fastest to do so, scoring 6:37 into the first period.
Logan Nijhoff (1G-1A), Ryker Evans (2A) and Stanislav Svozil (2A) each tallied multi-point games while Layton Feist scored his first of the season, and Zane Rowan and Cole Carrier added the others. Matthew Kieper made 25 saves on 27 shots for his 11th win of the season. The final shots were 27-26 for Prince Albert, with Regina going 3-for-7 on the power play and 6-for-7 on the penalty kill. The Pats win their second straight game.
On the other side, the Brandon Wheat Kings are coming off a 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings last night. Nolan Ritchie, Marcus Kallionkieli and Brett Hyland scored the three unanswered goals for the Wheat Kings between the second and third period for the win. Ethan Kruger made 40 saves on 42 shots for his 10th win of the season. Final shots were 42-35 for Edmonton, with the Shots 19-13 for Brandon in the third. The Oil Kings power play went 2-for-6 while the Wheat Kings man advantage was 0-for-3.
They have now won four of their last five games and five of the last six on home ice. The club will be without Ridly Greig and Vincent Iorio fir the near future as they are at Canada's World Junior selection camp.

The Regina Pats are 5-4 since they parted ways with Dave Struch on November 18th, with GM John Paddock taking over as the Head Coach...the Pats have recorded wins against Moose Jaw, Medicine Hat twice, Lethbridge and Prince Albert under Paddock...they've been outscored 34-to-32 during that time, while being outshot in four of those nine games, with equal shots twice (317 SF / 310 SA).
