NEWS & NOTES:
Wild Week Wrap: One of the toughest stretches of WHL scheduling in recent memory comes to an end tonight for the Wheat Kings, when they play their eighth game in a ten day span. This stretch also included over 3000+ KMs on the bus across three provinces. Despite the travel and tight schedule, Brandon is 4-2-0-1 in that span.
Long Time Coming: The last time these two teams played at Westoba Place, Ben McCartnew had a goal and two assists on route to a 4-1 BWK win. Only six players that were on the roster that night remain with the current club.
Wheat City Connection: Despite the historic rivalry, the coaching staff of the Pats has deep Wheat King connections, Head Coach John Paddock played for the BWK from 1972-74 while Assistant Coach Ken Schneider wore the black and gold from 1980-83. Schneider's son Mark also played in Brandon from 2009-11.
