Four minutes later, Sasha Mutala scored on the power play extending Tri-City's lead to 2-0.

The Silvertips responded with two even strength goals in the middle of the period to tie the game. Their second goal came after a scramble in front of the net and went to video review before being deemed a goal.

Less than a minute later Everett's Roan Woodward took a faceoff violation penalty putting the Americans on the power play. Sasha Mutala capitalized on the opportunity, scoring his second of the night with a wrist shot from the right circle.

The Americans carried a 3-2 lead into the first intermission.

The lone goal in the second period came from Lukas Dragicevic. The rookie defenseman took a shot from the blue line that snuck past MacInnes. The Ams carried a 4-2 lead into the final frame.
