Wichita is 0-1-0-0 vs. Allen this season

HEAD TO HEAD - This is the second meeting of the season between the Thunder and the Americans. All-time, Wichita is 18-25-4 against Missouri and 9-10-3 at home in the series.

TODAY - Wichita continues its six-game homestand tonight against the Allen Americans. This is the first trip of the season for Allen to the Air Capital. Both teams are coming off of losses at the hands of the Missouri Mavericks. The Thunder gained a point in a shootout loss last Saturday by the final of 3-2 while the Americans went to Independence on Tuesday, losing by the final of 4-1. Tonight begins a stretch of five games in the season-series between the two teams that will take place at INTRUST Bank Arena.

STANDINGS - Wichita gained a point last Saturday, giving the Thunder a two-point lead over Tulsa for third place in the division with 11 points. Wichita has played three more games than the Oilers, who have only played 11 so far this season. Missouri and Allen are separated by three points for first place with the Mavericks holding the division lead with 23. Allen is in second with 20 points and has played one more game than the Mavericks.

FIRST FOR EVERYTHING - Dalton Reum had a big week last week, recording three points in four games and had his first two-point outing of his career on Saturday. The third-year blueliner has already beat his career-mark in goals this season and has been very active on the offensive side of things for the Thunder.

FIRST GOAL - Teams in the ECHL that have scored first have had the upper hand so far to this point in the season. Out of the 184 first goals scored so far, teams are 137-33-8-6 and good for a clip of .783 win¬ning percentage. The Thunder have scored five first goals so far this season and stopped a streak of not scoring the first goal last Saturday, which ended at seven-straight games.

LOWE - Ian Lowe had two goals last week. He scored on Tuesday night in Allen, which was a short¬handed goal. He followed that up with his fourth of the season on Saturday night against Missouri. RECENT ACQUISTIONS - The Thunder made several moves of the past couple of weeks. Wichita acquired forward Logan Nelson in a trade with Quad City. Thunder also acquired defensemen Eric Springer from the Atlanta Gladiators and Daniel Johnston from the Idaho Steelheads. The Thunder also waived forward Todd Fiddler and defenseman Ryan Ruikka.

CLOSE CALL - Wichita has appeared in eight games decided by one goal, going 4-3-0-1 over that span. Only Idaho has appeared in more one-goal games.

ALLEN NOTES - Chad Costello is second in the league with 17 points and tied for first with 13 assists...Eric Roy leads all defenseman with five goals...Joel Rumpel is tied for the league-lead with nine wins...Tristan King has goals in consecutive games...Allen has the second most road wins in the West (6)...
