Last Game
Raphael Bussieres broke a 1-1 tie with just under six minutes left in the third period and the host Mallards went on to defeat the Fort Wayne Komets 2-1 Sunday.
Home Sweet Home
The Mallards have won three straight home games and are unbeaten in regulation (5-0-1) in their last six home games.
Rough Road
The Mallards have gone winless (0-4-2) in six road games since winning their opener in Allen October 16.
Division
The Mallards Sunday earned their first win against a Midwest Division foe in their third division game.
First Blood
The Mallards Sunday won for the first time when allowing the first goal. They are now 1-5-2 when giving up the first goal and 5-0-1 when scoring first.
Finishing Kick
The Mallards have outscored the opposition 10-3 in the third period of their last eight games.
Perfect Ten
The Mallards are, along with the Florida Everblades, one of just two teams who can boast six players with at least ten points: Olivier Archambault (14), Bussieres (12), Matt Neal (11), Mike Monfredo (11), Zach Pochiro (10) and Guillaume Gelinas (10).
Red Light District
Bussieres scored the third period game winner in each of the Mallards' last two victories and has seven points (four goals and three assists) in his last five games. Bussieres and Neal- who has four goals (and one assist) in his last five games- are among a group of players tied for fifth in the league in goals (7).
Arch Madness
Olivier Archambault has eight points (three goals and five assists) in his last six games and is now tied for seventh in the ECHL in assists (10) and tied for ninth in points (14).
Blue Line
Monfredo is tied for the lead among ECHL defensemen in assists (10) and is tied for third seventh in assists. Monfredo is also tied for third among defensemen in points (11). Gelinas is tied for fifth among defensemen in points (10).
Between the Pipes
Brody Hoffman has won his last three starts and posted a 2.35 goals against average and .917 save percentage in the process.
Special Teams
Tanner Eberle Sunday scored the Mallards' second shorthanded goal of the season one game after the Mallards matched a season high by allowing two power play goals (on four Cyclone advantages) in last Friday's 3-1 loss in Cincinnati. The Mallards rank seventeenth in the ECHL in penalty killing (83.0 percent). The Mallards went 0-for-8 on the power play over their two games last weekend and now rank sixth in the league on the man advantage (21.8 percent).
Head to Head
Tonight's game is the finale of the Mallards' two-game season series with Alaska. Last Wednesday's 7-4 Mallard victory over the Aces was the first ever match-up between the teams.
Milestones
Vladimir Nikiforov played his one hundred fiftieth career ECHL game Sunday against Fort Wayne. Nikiforov has 97 career ECHL points...Darren McMillan has recorded 97 points as a Mallard...Mike Monfredo has 91 career points...Anthony Collins has 92 penalty minutes as a Mallard...Olivier Archambault has played 49 career ECHL games...Ryan Tesink has played 48 career games.
