First Visit of the Season
The Allen Americans are making their first visit to Wichita this season. The Americans were 6-3-0 last year at Intrust Bank Arena. Allen will play six times in this building in 2015-2016.
Back on Top
Chad Costello is leading the Americans in points and assists after getting off to a slow start. Costello is tied for the ECHL lead with 13 helpers, and second overall in points in the league with 17. Costello had his season-high nine-game point streak snapped last Saturday night against Colorado.
Between the Pipes
Rookie netminder Joel Rumpel is tied for the ECHL lead with nine wins (9-4-0). Rumpel was spectacular in the Americans loss in Missouri on Tuesday night, single-handedly keeping Allen in the game the first two periods.
Allen Debut
Forward, Chance Braid is expected to make his Americans debut tonight against the Wichita Thunder. Braid was acquired from Idaho for future considerations on Thursday.
In The System
Americans forward Greger Hanson has one game-winning goal with two penalty minutes in three games with the San Jose Barracuda. Daniel Doremus is a minus one in two games since being recalled.
On the Road Again
The Americans will play their tenth road game in 16 total games this season. Allen is 6-3-0 away from the Allen Event Center. After Saturday night's home game against Tulsa, the Americans will play three more on the road with a back to back with the Oilers on Sunday in Oklahoma, and two in Salt Lake City on Thanksgiving weekend.
