Solar Bears Remember Linesman Camden Nuckols
November 20, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Orlando Solar Bears News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears are saddened to announce the passing of ECHL linesman, Camden Nuckols.
Nuckols, 25, was a linesman during many Orlando Solar Bears home games at the Amway Center since the team's return in 2012, totaling 61 regular season games and 2 playoff games. He was a consummate professional and was well regarded among his peers for his contributions to the ECHL.
Nuckols was also an alumni of the local Orlando Youth Hockey Association, where he won a state championship as a teenager. He officiated countless collegiate, adult league, and youth hockey games on top of his work as an ECHL official.
On Friday, Solar Bears ownership made the following statement:
"It was a difficult day when we learned of Camden's passing. He was a terrific young man - always smiling, always positive. He took a tremendous amount of pride in his job on the ice. He will be sorely missed, as we have lost a member of our hockey family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his mother and father."
The Solar Bears will remember Camden with a moment of silence prior to puck drop before their game on November 24, 2015, and Solar Bears players will wear Camden's jersey number, 32, on their helmets for the remainder of the season.
