Game 2 of the Battle Jacks-Jackrabbits Series Postponed
June 13, 2023 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Battle Creek Battle Jacks News Release
Kokomo, IN - With the Battle Jacks leading, 12-0, in the 1st inning, the rainy conditions forced Battle Creek's game against Kokomo to be postponed to Thursday, July 6th at 3:05 p.m.
The slick conditions had a serious impact on the game. On one occasion, the Battle Jacks had a bat fly out of a player's hands on a swing. In addition, Kokomo's pitching staff had a couple of pitches where the ball flew out of their hands, resulting in wild pitches, hit by pitches, and passed balls. The Battle Jacks took advantage of a majority of those Jackrabbits mistakes, amassing 12 runs on just four hits.
After the top of the 1st inning, the game was delayed for one hour. Within that time, the Battle Jacks and Jackrabbits took some time to have some fun. The two teams both took pictures with one another and played a friendly game of wiffle ball with the pitchers making plate appearances. At the end of the day, each of these teams are full of guys that love the game of baseball and have joy playing it no matter the conditions!

Since the rain continued to fall, the game was officially postponed from Tuesday, June 13th to Thursday, July 6th. Battle Creek will now play a doubleheader against Kokomo on July 6th as the first day of a five-game series in which the Battle Jacks and Jackrabbits will play five games against each other in four days.
The status on if the games score will remain, 12-0, or be reset back to, 0-0, is to be determined by the Northwoods League in the near future.
