Boise, ID - Lance Galbraith scored the game-winning, power play goal 1:38 into overtime to lift the Steelheads to a come-from-behind, 4-3 win over the Wranglers in front of 4,716 fans at Qwest Arena on Friday night.

Galbraith's ninth of the season was his first game-winner, as he took a pass from Marty Flichel at side of the Wranglers' cage and stick-handled into the top of the crease before stuffing the puck past Daniel Manzato (27 saves) to end the contest. Darrell Hay, named as a starter to the National Conference All-Star team earlier in the day, recorded the second assist.

With the win, the Steelheads (11-9-7) are now 4-1-1 in their last six games, while the Wranglers (20-2-3) remain unbeaten in a franchise-record 20 matches.

Defenseman Blake Forsyth gave the Steelheads a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission when he netted his second of the season at the 14:54 mark. Taggart Desmet and Travis Wight grabbed the helpers on the even-strength marker.

In the second period the Wranglers tied the score on Sean Owens' tally at 4:52. With Steelheads' all-star rookie goaltender Kellen Briggs (27 saves) down and out of position, Adam Cracknell feathered a pass to Owens who blasted the puck into an open net for his fourth of the campaign.

Desmet then put the Steelheads back in front when he deflected Jeremy Scherlinck's point shot past Manzato to give the Steelheads a 2-1 lead midway through the second period. Colin Sinclair also picked up a helper, his first of two on the evening.

However the Wranglers would even the score before the second stanza expired on Aki Seitsonen's marker with 2:12 left in the frame. Peter Ferraro and Jason Josza collected the assists.

Early in the third period defenseman Mike Madill blasted a shot through traffic that beat Briggs for a power play goal and a 3-2 Wranglers' lead. Brandon Kalieniecki and Cracknell set up the goal, Madill's first of the season and the third power play goal of the series for the visitors.

With Briggs at the bench for the extra attacker, Steelheads' rookie forward Mark Bomersback tied the match, scoring his team-leading 16th at 18:11 of the third period. Bomersback grabbed a loose puck that was bouncing outside the crease to the left of Manzato and he squeaked his chance just over the goal line, with Sinclair and Hay drawing the assists.

The final shots favored the Steelheads 31-30, as they earned their ninth home win of the season. The Steelheads finished one-for-five on the power play while the Wranglers one-for-four. The victory for Briggs is his team-leading sixth, while Manzato drops to 11-0-1.

The Steelheads and Wranglers wrap up their three-game series on Saturday, December 22. The puck drops at 7:10 p.m. MST. All the action can be heard live on 1350 AM, KTIK "The Ticket" or via the B2 Networks. Don't forget, Steelheads' single-game tickets can be purchased via www.idahosteelheads.com (using the print-at-home feature), by calling 331-TIXS or from the Qwest Arena box office.
