Bakersfield Condors News Release
STOCKTON, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors rattled off four goals in the third period to erase a two-goal deficit and take a 6-4 victory against the Stockton Thunder in front of 5,466 fans at Stockton Arena Friday night.
In a fast moving first period it was the Condors that emerged with the 1-0 lead. Sean Venedam pocketed his eighth of the season with a wrist shot from the right circle. Yutaka Fukufuji got the nod between the pipes for the Condors, and stopped all 13 Thunder shots in the period.
Bakersfield extended the lead early in the second, with Brett Lutes finishing off a 2-on-1 to make it 2-0. Ianiero picked up his second assist of the game on the tally. Stockton bounced back, however, with two late goals in the period. Jacob Micflikier (14:32) and Tim O'Connell (19:21 on the power play) both lit the lamp to erase the deficit. The Thunder outshot the Condors 11-3 in the period.
Stockton bounced back to take a 4-2 lead with two quick goals near the middle of the period. But it awoke the Bakersfield offense. Mark Derlago started the comeback with his sixth of the season at 9:55. Tim Konsorada tied it up at 12:31 and then netted the game winner while shorthanded at 15:14. Venedam ended the night with an empty netter to seal the win.
Fukufuji stopped 27 shots to improve to 6-5-0 on the season, and Todd Griffith extended his point streak to 10 games with an assist in the third period.
