Johnstown Chiefs News Release
Johnstown, PA - The Chiefs got on the board first against Cincinnati for the second consecutive night, but were felled in the second period again, with the Cyclones earning a 3-1 win.
Jean Desrochers potted a backhander on the power play 2:44 into the first period. Rob Drummond and Randy Rowe assisted on the goal with Rowe's assist marking his 100th point in a Chiefs uniform.
Cincinnati, however, put up three unanswered goals by way of specialty teams and never looked back.
Barret Ehgoetz scored his fourth goal against the Chiefs, while shorthanded, beating Mike Brown with a backhand deke. Matt Syroczynski slid a rebound off of a Gerard Miller shot that hit the post to give the Cyclones the lead, and then Sean Perkins hammered a one-timer past Brown's blocker to set the final. Both goals came in the second period with Cincinnati on the power play.
Mike Brown ended up with 22 saves on 25 shots, while his counterpart Dov Grumet-Morris handled 24 of the Chiefs 25 shots. The Johnstown power play scored for the eighth straight game, going 1-for-7.
