Idaho Steelheads News Release
BOISE, Idaho: Effective today, goaltender Steve Silverthorn has been reassigned to the Idaho Steelheads after being recalled by the team's AHL affiliate Iowa Stars on Dec. 17.
Silverthorn did not see action in Iowa, but is in net tonight at Qwest Arena against the Las Vegas Wranglers.
Blair Allison, who had been signed as emergency backup goaltender while Silverthorn was in Iowa, was released on Dec. 20 and local goaltender T.R. Kirkman had been added as emergency backup. Kirkman was released today.
Also on Dec. 20, captain Marty Flichel was activated off of the injured reserve list after being placed on the 3-day IR on Dec. 11 and Greg Rallo was placed on the 3-day IR.
Idaho is idle after tonight's game until the team travels to Las Vegas for two games on Dec. 27 and 28.
