Augusta Lynx News Release

Augusta's list of former players who have reached the NHL level grew by one this weekend when former Lynx Trevor Gillies appeared in his first NHL contest with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

A popular player in his tenure with Augusta, Gillies became the 272nd player from the ECHL level to play in an NHL game when he was recalled by Anaheim and appeared in the team's 4-3 shootout loss to the San Jose Sharks on Sunday, November 6th. Gillies recorded one shot on goal in the contest without a point or penalty minutes.

The 6-3, 210 lb. Cambridge, Ontario native was acquired by the Ducks along with 2007 NHL Entry Draft conditional draft pick from the New York Rangers for Steve Rucchin. In eight games with Anaheim's American Hockey League affiliate the Portland Pirates, Gillies has one goal and two points, a +4 rating, and 35 PIMs.

During his time in Augusta, Gillies appeared in 46 games, posting one assist along with 269 penalty minutes. The entire Lynx organization wishes Trevor the best of luck.
