Royals Notes:

The Royals won the first two games played this week, extending the team's winning streak to a season high three games.

The wins in the first two games this week extended the team's unbeaten streak to five games.

The Royals' winning and unbeaten streak was snapped with the 2-1 loss in Toledo on Sunday.

In the first two games this week, the Royals scored the game's first goal.

Including the first two games of this past week, the Royals scored the game's first goal in four consecutive games.

The Royals are 3-0-1 this season when scoring the game's first goal.

At the 3:56 mark of the first period, Mike Pandolfo scored the first goal of the Royals game against the Greenville Grrrowl on Friday of this past week.

That was the second time that Pandolfo scored the first goal in a Royals' game, as he scored the first goal of the season for Reading in the 3-2 win over Johnstown on October 22.

Pandolfo also scored the game's third goal in the 3-2 win over Greenville on Friday at the 15:45 mark of the third period.

That was Pandolfo's second game winning goal of the season. (He also scored the game winner in the third period of the season opening game against Johnstown.)

Friday's game was Pandolfo's second multi-goal game for the Royals. He also scored two goals in the Royals 3-2 win over Johnstown back on October 22.

Pandolfo also assisted on the Royals second goal, scored by Shay Stephenson, at the 5:34 mark of the first period. That was the first three point performance of the season for Pandolfo with the Royals.

Rich Peverley assisted on both of the goals scored by Mike Pandolfo on Friday night. That was Peverley's third multi-point performance of the season for the Royals.

Peverley also picked up an assist in Saturday's 5-3 win against Dayton on Saturday and the 2-1 loss in Toledo on Sunday. Peverley has had at least one point in every game played by the Royals this season.

Peverley is the leading scorer for the Royals with two goals and seven assists for nine points.

The Royals second goal on Friday night came 1:38 after Reading's first goal. That is the quickest back-to-back sequence of goals scored by the Royals this season.

On Friday night, the Royals entered the third period leading by a score of 2-0. Reading scored one goal in the third period to take a 3-0 lead with 4:15 remaining in the game.

Greenville then scored two goals against the Royals-the first with 1:16 remaining in regulation time and the second 52 seconds later (with just 24 seconds remaining in the game).

This marked the third game in a row that the Royals were outscored in the third period. In fact, the Royals were outscored in the third period in all three games this past week: (2-1 in Greenville; 3-1 in Dayton on Saturday; and 1-0 in Toledo on Sunday.)

The Royals have now been outscored in the third period in the last five games the team has played. Over the course of the season, the Royals have been outscored in the third period by a total of 11-5.

The goaltender in Friday night's 3-2 win in Greenville was Yutaka Fukufuji. That was Fukufuji's first win as a member of the Reading Royals

In Friday's win, Fukufuji stopped 39 of the 41 shots he faced.

Fukufuji was also the goaltender of record in Reading's 2-1 loss in Toledo on Sunday. That was his first loss in regulation as a member of the Royals. In that game, Fukufuji stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced.

Friday's win in Greenville was the first time that the Reading Royals team had ever played in the Bi-Lo Center.

Friday's game against Greenville (a South Division team) was the first for the Royals against a team outside of the North Division.

This season Reading plays four games against teams from the South Division and three of those games are against Greenville. The other South Division team the Royals play is the South Carolina Stingrays.

In Saturday's 5-3 win over Dayton, the Royals scored the game's first four goals. The 4-0 lead on Saturday was the Royals' largest lead that the team has held against any team this season.

The first three goals scored by Reading on Saturday were scored by a line comprised of Jon Francisco, Doug Christiansen and Greg Hogeboom. It was the first time that these three players played together as a regularly rotating line.

Doug Christiansen scored the game's first goal of Saturday's game (at the 7:28 mark of the first period) and the game's third goal (at the 4:32 mark of the second period). That was Christiansen's first two goal game for the Royals this season.

Jon Franciso's goal (the second of the game at the 13:32 mark of the first period) was Francisco's first goal for the Royals this season.

The Royals' fourth goal on Saturday night was scored by Mike Kompon 9:30 into the second period.

That was Kompon's first goal as a member of the Royals.

Kompon's goal was scored while the Royals were on the power play. That goal snapped a streak of thirteen power play opportunities for the Royals without scoring a goal.

Reading added a second power play goal (scored by Eric Werner) at the 14:42 mark of the third period in Saturday's game. That marked the first time this season that the Royals had scored more than one power play goal in a game.

Kompon scored Reading's lone goal in the 2-1 loss to Toledo on Sunday. That goal was also scored on the power play.

Over the course of the season, the Royals have now scored 5 power play goals in 29 chances, a 17.2% scoring ratio, which ranks the team 14th out of the 25 teams in the league in that category.

In Saturday's 5-3 win on Saturday, the Dayton Bombers scored all three of their goals in a 2:26 span in the third period. That is the quickest sequence of back-to-back-to-back goals scored against the Royals this season.

Cody Rudkowsky was the goaltender of record for the Royals in Saturday's 5-3 win over Dayton. In that game, Rudkowsky stopped 31 of the 34 shots he faced. Rudkowsky has a record of 3-0-0 for the Royals this year with a 1.95 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.

Saturday's 5-3 win over Dayton is the only game that the Royals have played this season that was not decided by one goal. All five of the other games played by Reading have been one-goal games.

Saturday's 2-1 loss in Toledo on Sunday marked the first time this season that the Royals lost a game in regulation time. The only other team without a loss in regulation as of Sunday was the Charlotte Checkers, who had an identical record of 4-0-1 going into Sunday's action. (Charlotte beat the South Carolina Stingrays, 7-2, and remain undefeated at 5-0-1=11).

Both goals scored by the Storm on Sunday were scored while Toledo was on the power play. That marked the first time this season that the Royals have given up more than one power play goal in a single game.

Toledo had nine power play chances against the Royals on Sunday. That was a season high for the Royals' opponent.

Over the course of the season, the Royals pk has given up five goals in 38 power play chances for the opponent, which translates into a 86.8% kill ratio and ranks the Royals 6th in the league in that category.
