LAST WEEK'S RESULTS
Friday, November 4 vs. Augusta 3-2 W
The Everblades came from behind to tame the Augusta Lynx 3-2 last Friday night at Germain Arena. The Everblades used second period goals by rookies John Ronan and Nick Vukovic to help erase a 1-0 deficit. After Augusta took a 1-0 lead with a short-handed goal at 17:34 of the first period, Ronan scored his first professional goal at 9:15 of the second period to tie the game. Vukovic followed that up with a power play goal at 13:30 of the frame to give the 'Blades the lead for good. Leading by one heading into the third period, the Everblades increased their lead to 3-1 when newcomer Anders Strome banged home a rebound at 5:26. Augusta battled back to cut the gap to one with 2:01 remaining in regulation, but despite a flurry of activity in the closing minute, the Lynx couldn't get the equalizer past Everblades goaltender Phil Osaer as the 'Blades hung on to win their second straight game. Osaer (1-1-0) earned his first win as an Everblade by stopping 34 of 36 shots. Florida special teams: PP: 1-for-6, PK: 7-for-7.
Saturday, November 5 vs. Augusta 4-3 SOW The Everblades won their third straight game by scoring three third period goals to force overtime, and used 28 saves from goaltender Phil Osaer in regulation and overtime to knock off the Augusta Lynx 4-3 in a shootout last Saturday night at Germain Arena. After the Lynx picked up three second period goals, the 'Blades stormed back with three goals in a span of 11 minutes in the final frame. Cabana began the comeback effort with a power play goal at 3:46 of the final period and Lehun followed with his first professional goal just 1:10 later to cut the Lynx lead to one. Less than 10 minutes later, Hartlieb tallied his first goal of the season when he jammed a rebound home at 14:12. Following a scoreless overtime, which included an Augusta power play, the game moved to a shootout. The Everblades scored on their first three shots by Anders Strome, Lehun and Daniel Sisca, while Osaer turned away three of Augusta's four shooters.
