Johnstown Chiefs News Release


WEEKLY SUMMARY: The Johnstown Chiefs (0-4-3) went 0-1-1 last week with a shootout loss at Trenton on Friday and a 4-2 loss at home to Wheeling on Saturday. The Chiefs will host Trenton on Friday, followed by a home and home series with the Nailers on Saturday and Sunday. The Chiefs, with three points, are in 6th place in the North division. Johnstown leads the ECHL in overtime games.

On Saturday, the official Chiefs pregame party will begin at 4:30pm at City View restaurant, with a $5 buffet. The buffet and transportation from the War Memorial to City View and back is available to game day ticket holders.

Game #6 (11/04/05)

TRENTON 3 ¡V Johnstown 2 SO

Currie 35 saves Friday night, the visiting Chiefs again took Trenton to a shootout, again falling by a final score, 3-2. The Chiefs rallied twice from one goal deficits, but could not beat new Titans goalie, Martin Houle, for the go-ahead goal. Joe Tallari scored his first of the year, and Randy Rowe added his second. J.B. Bittner added two assists. The Chiefs remain winless on the road since March 2005, and are 0-3 away from Johnstown this season.

Game #7 (11/05/05)

Wheeling 4- JOHNSTOWN 2

Currie 27 saves J.B. Bittner notched his 2nd consecutive multi-point game, but the Chiefs rally fell short, 4-2. Wheeling jumped out to a 3-0 lead on a pair of goals by Brendon Hodge and a tally from Bo Cheesman. The Chiefs fought back to 3-2, on goals by Randy Rowe and Bittner, but could not net the equalizer. Brendon Hodge added an empty netter for the hat trick.

Bittner had two points (1G 1A), and Paul Caponigri contributed two helpers. Tyler Kindle also added an assist.

Friday, November 11, vs. Trenton Titans 7:30 p.m.

Radio: WNTJ 850-AM, WNTW 990-AM, www.johnstownchiefs.com and www.b2now.com The Chiefs will clash with the Titans for the third time in three weeks. Johnstown is 0-0-2 against Trenton, with both losses coming via shootout. The Chiefs will celebrate Veterans Day by honoring Veterans of the Armed services with 1st and 2nd intermission presentations, special Camo jerseys, and increased discounts on military tickets.

Saturday, November 12, vs. Wheeling Nailers 7:00 p.m.

Radio: WNTJ 850-AM, WNTW 990-AM, www.johnstownchiefs.com and www.b2now.com The Chiefs and Nailers will drop the puck on a home and home series. The Chiefs will again wear the special Camo Jerseys, in honor of Veterans Day festivities. After last Saturday¡¦s loss to the Nailers, the Chiefs still lead the all-time series, 49-46-12. J.B. Bittner capped off a personal 4 point weekend with a goal and an assist against Wheeling, Saturday. The Chiefs will conclude Veterans Day tributes by auctioning off the Camo Jerseys after the game. All proceeds will benefit Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
