RoadRunners Sign Brent Henley

Phoenix, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL have signed defenseman Brent Henley to a contract. Henley is expected to make his RoadRunners debut on Wednesday against Long Beach.

Henley, 25, was recently released by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League. The fifth-year professional and 6-foot-7, 250-pound native of Coquitlam, British Columbia native tallied two goals, seven points, and 106 penalty minutes in 36 games in 2004-05 with the Edmonton RoadRunners of the American Hockey League and the Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL. Henley led the South Carolina Stingrays with 255 penalty minutes during the 2003-04 regular season and finished seventh overall in the ECHL.

Phoenix has also activated defenseman John Fieweger off the seven-day injured reserve. Fieweger has appeared in two games for the RoadRunners this season.

To make room for Henley and Fieweger on the roster, the RoadRunners have placed forward Blake Robson and defenseman Brad Woods on the seven-day injured reserve.

Phoenix return to America West Arena at 7:11PM on Wednesday, November 9 when they host the Long Beach Ice Dogs in the first game of a two-game series that will conclude with a Veterans Day game at 7:11PM on Friday, November 11. The first 2,000 fans on Friday will receive RoadRunners Rally Towels. In addition, the 2005 NASCAR Tour will hit America West Arena and set up an interactive display in the plaza outside the Casino Arizona Pavilion prior to Friday's game.
