Florida Acquires D-Man Holdridge

Estero, FL - The Florida Everblades President/GM Craig Brush announced today that the Everblades have acquired defenseman Kevin Holdridge from the Louisiana Ice Gators (ECHL) for cash.

Holdridge (6'2" 205 lbs.) started this season in Louisiana where he saw action in 15 games notching 1 assist and 4 penalty minutes. Holdridge was selected in the third round (# 70 overall) in the 1998 NHL entry draft by the Carolina Hurricanes. The Syracuse, NY native spent five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League before joining Louisiana. Holdridge will join the team tonight and will be available on Friday night when the Blades take on the Columbia Inferno at TECO Arena.

In related news, the Everblades annual teddy bear toss is this weekend on Saturday night. Fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear to toss on to the ice after Florida scores their first goal of the game. The entire Everblades team will deliver the bears to the Children's Hospital at Health Park in Fort Myers next Wednesday afternoon and to a number of other charities this holiday season. Saturday's game will also be televised on UPN-8.
