NASCAR'S Dale Jr. to Appear at Dayton Bombers Game

Dayton, Ohio – The Dayton Bombers will share the evening with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. during their January 23, 2004 game at the Nutter Center. Earnhardt, Jr. will visit Dayton to help raise money for two local charities, the Children's Medical Center (CMC) and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

While in town, Earnhardt Jr. will not only participate in charitable activities, but will also attend the Dayton Bombers game. As a result, the Bombers have planned an exciting slate of promotional activities for January 23rd - activities that people of all ages will enjoy. From Earnhardt Jr., to the Bombers, their fans, and NASCAR fans – everyone will have a tremendous role to play in the Bombers Pit Crew for this special event.

Bombers team owner, Tim Reilly, says "Coach Ling and I are excited about adding Dale Earnhardt, Jr., as number eight, to our roster for the January 23rd game." Reilly continues, "And, we are honored to be on his team as we partner with People For That to raise money for two very deserving local children's charities."

Debbie May, Children's Miracle Network manager agrees, "We are thrilled that Children's has been chosen to participate in this event and benefit from the generosity of Dale Jr., local sponsors and the Bombers organization. " May says, "This is an exciting opportunity and we are pleased to play an active role that benefits local children."

Earnhardt, Jr. will greet troops from the US Army (official NASCAR sponsor) and the US Air Force, will honor the "wish" of several Make-A-Wish children by spending one-on-one time with them pre-game, and will also personally visit with other Children's Medical Center patients and Make-A-Wish children who attend the January 23rd Bombers game.

Earnhardt, Jr. is NASCAR's Most Popular Driver for 2003. He earned that honor after 1.3 million fans cast their votes this year. In the 2003 Winston Cup point standings, Earnhardt Jr. finished third. He and the No. 8 Budweiser team recorded nine victories and earned more than $20 million in prize money in NASCAR's top league.
