Texas Wildcatters News Release

BEAUMONT, TX (December 11, 2003) – The Texas Wildcatters have announced that defenseman Tim Branham has been called up to the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League. Branham is expected to be in the lineup this weekend as the Pirates play three games on the road.

This is the first time a Wildcatters player has been called up this season. Branham, a second year pro, played 30 games last year with the Saint John Flames of the AHL and 30 games with the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL. In 22 games with the Wildcatters this year, he ranks first in team scoring from the point position with three goals and seven assists for 10 points. The native of Eagle River, WI was second on the Wildcatters in power play assists at the time of his call up.

Branham was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round (#93) of the 2000 NHL draft. He attended the St. Louis Blues NHL prospect training camp this past fall.

The Wildcatters travel to Louisiana on Friday 7:05 p.m. to take on the IceGators. The team will return home for a pair of games, Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday at 5:05 p.m., against the Pensacola Ice Pilots.

Saturday, December 13th is Teddy Bear Toss Night. Bring a teddy bear or stuffed toy and throw it on the ice after the Wildcatters score their first goal of the evening. All toys will be donated to the Toys for Tots to provide some cheer to those less advantaged.
