Greensboro Generals News Release

Greensboro—Following the first goal scored by the Greensboro Generals in Friday night's game against the Trenton Titans, fans are encouraged to toss their teddy bears onto the ice as part of the game festivities.

Those fans that bring in a teddy bear to the game will receive $2 off any ticket prior to entering the game. The bears will be donated to children in the pediatrics ward of Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, as well as children in the cancer clinic at Duke Hospital.

Along with the teddy bear donation to the children at Duke Hospital, the Generals will donate $5,000 to assist in the search for the cure of cancer, on Tuesday, December 16th. A portion of the proceeds came from the Greensboro Jaycees Bachelor-Bachelorette Auction, in which Mike Bayrack, Matt Turek, and Kurt Drummond.

The Greensboro Generals Booster Club, under the coordination of Karen Davenport, is also coordinating Operation Happy Holidays. In section 104 of the Greensboro Coliseum, kids and adults are welcome to stop by the Booster Club table to make Holiday cards to send to the troops overseas. Card making will occur in between the periods on December 11 and December 12. Everyone should stop by in order to spread some holiday cheer.
