MOLINE, Il - Jeff Hoggan's two goals helped San Antonio storm back, but a 5-1 first period deficit was too much to overcome as Quad City downed the Rampage 6-4 Friday night at the I Wireless Center.

Just over seven minutes into the first period, the flurry began when Flames center Dan Ryder beat Rampage goalie Al Montoya for a 1-0 lead. Just over a minute later, the Flames extended their lead to 2-0 when defenseman Matt Pelech notched his first goal of the season.

San Antonio cut it to 2-1 only 31 seconds later at the 9:01 mark when forward Jeff Hoggan put the Rampage on the board. Quad City, however, reeled off three more first period goals including the first of the season by center Aki Seitsonon, just 39 seconds after the Hoggan tally. Later, the Flames added two power-play goals. David Van der Gulik made it 4-1 at the 13:10 mark and just over a minute later, Kyle Greentree's eighth goal of the year made it 5-1 through one.

In the second, the flurry of goals continued when rookie forward Chad Kolarik pulled the Rampage to 5-2 a minute-twelve in. Two minutes later Jamie Lundmark's goal took the lead back out and made it a 6-2 game. Lundmark's power-play goal beat Josh Tordjman, who replaced Montoya 14:18 into the first frame. San Antonio cut it back a minute-forty two later when Hoggan knocked in a power-play goal, his second goal of the night, to make it 6-3 after two.

The Flames held that lead until midway through the third when Rampage center Alexander Nikulin took a Dylan Reese assist and made it 6-4 with 9:44 to play in regulation. But Flames goalie Matt Keetley settled down allowing one third period goal on 13 Rampage shots.

Friday was the second time in as many starts that Rampage goalie Al Montoya did not make it into the second period, saving 9 of 14 to take the loss. Tordjman came off the bench saving 15 of 16 in just over two periods of play. Keetley earned the win staving off 33 of 37 Rampage shots.

Quad City went 3 for 8 on the man advantage while San Antonio tallied 1 goal in 6 opportunities. Overall, San Antonio out shot the Flames 37-30.

The loss extends a trifecta of losing streaks for the Rampage. It extends the franchise winless streak to 16, the franchise losing streak to 12 and sets the franchise road losing streak to 10 games.

San Antonio returns home tomorrow, Saturday, November 29th for an I-10 matchup with Houston.

Saturday's game is the 5th Annual Salute to Badges Night honoring the city's finest, those who serve and those who have sacrificed. The Rampage will wear commemorative jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. Join the Rampage for Salute to Badges and an Express-News Value night this Saturday at the AT&T Center. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
