
Fisher Cats Shut Down Sea Dogs' Bats, Win 2-0

Portland, Maine - John Anderson went 6.2 scoreless and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (37-39) shutout the Sea Dogs (28-51) 2-0 in game two of their series at Hadlock Field on Wednesday night.
Anderson (W, 3-3) scattered seven hits throughout the game and struck out four while walking none. Chad Girodo worked and inning and a third and retired all four batters he faced, and Wil Browning pitched a perfect ninth to record his first save of the season.
New Hampshire took a 1-0 lead in the third on an RBI single by Dalton Pompey (2-4, RBI, BB) scoring Ian Parmley (2-3, BB, 2 R). It marked the 14th consecutive game that the opposing team has scored first at Hadlock Field. The Fisher Cats doubled up on their lead in the fifth on an RBI single by Dwight Smith, Jr. (2-5, RBI) that scored Parmley.
Luis Diaz (0-7) worked a quality start but was handed the loss. Diaz allowed two earned runs on seven hits over six innings of work, walking two and striking out five. John Cornely worked two scoreless innings in relief for Portland, while Miguel Celestino pitched a scoreless ninth, allowing one hit.
The series continues tomorrow night at Hadlock Field for game three, Mike Augliera (2-11, 5.20) makes the start for Portland while Austin Bibens-Dirkx (2-3, 7.13) is scheduled to start for New Hampshire. First pitch comes at 7:00 PM and pregame coverage begins live on the WPEI U.S. Cellular Sea Dogs Radio Network at 6:40 PM.
