
Three Fisher Cats Pitchers Combine to Blank Sea Dogs

PORTLAND, ME - Three New Hampshire pitchers combined on a seven-hit shutout and the Fisher Cats topped the Sea Dogs 2-0 on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field in Portland.
John Anderson (3-3) started and blanked the Sea Dogs until two outs in the seventh inning. He allowed seven hits, did not walk a batter, and struck out four. Chad Girodo retired all four batters he faced and Wil Browning picked up his first Double-A save, setting down Portland in order in the ninth.
New Hampshire (37-39) scored the first run of the game in the top of the third inning. Ian Parmley singled and that was followed by a single by Jorge Flores, moving Parmley to third. He scored on a single by Dalton Pompey to make it 1-0.
In the top of the fifth inning, Parmley walked, moved to second on a wild pitch, and scored on a single by Dwight Smith Jr. to put New Hampshire in front 2-0.
Luis Diaz (0-7) took the loss for the Sea Dogs (28-51), allowing both runs in six innings.
The Fisher Cats play again in Portland on Thursday at 7 p.m. New Hamsphire's starter in the third game of the series will be RHP Austin Bibens-Dirkx (2-3, 7.13) against Portland's RHP Mike Augliera (2-11, 5.20).
