Dugas Promoted to Yankees, Castillo Returns

The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, have three roster moves to announce prior to tonight's game with the Altoona Curve.

OF Taylor Dugas transferred from Trenton to New York

RHP Geoff DeGroot transferred from GCL 1 to Trenton

INF/OF Ali Castillo transferred from Scranton-Wilkes/Barre to Trenton

Dugas has played in 47 games this season with the Thunder and owns a career on-base percentage of .402. Dugas was drafted by the Yankees in the eighth round of the 2012 draft out of the University of Alabama where he left the program as the career leader in hits, singles, doubles and triples.

Ali Castillo returns to the Thunder after batting .292 in 13 games with Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes/Barre. Castillo began his season with the Thunder and batted .351 in 24 games before his promotion to the RailRiders on June 12.

DeGroot (pronounced de-grow) was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Yankees on June 11, 2015 out of the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. With the Riverhawks, DeGroot went 3-3 with a 4.75 ERA in nine starts as a senior. DeGroot's career statistics can be found here.

The Thunder roster is at the Eastern League maximum, 25 active players.
