
Fisher Cats fall 4-0 at Trenton Thursday night

Center fielder Kevin Thompson led off the last of the first with a home run and Charlie Isaacson and Justin Pope shut out the Fisher Cats on six hits in Trenton's 4-0 win over New Hampshire Thursday night in Trenton.
Thompson (3-for-4, RBI) hit his 11th homer to left field off Fisher Cat starter and loser Josh Banks (7-6) to give Trenton a 1-0 lead.
The Thunder (44-36) added a run in the third inning. Thompson singled, and advanced to third on two groundouts, scoring on Shelley Duncan's ground ball misplayed by shortstop Raul Tablado.
Left fielder Eric Crozier doubled home two more runs with a blast to center field off Banks in the sixth inning, a two-out shot scoring Shelley Duncan (2-for-3) and Eric Duncan after they had reached with singles.
Charlie Isaacson (5-2) pitched shutout ball for 6.2 innings, allowing five hits, while walking two and striking out seven in winning his fourth straight decision for Trenton. Justin Pope worked the final 2.1 without allowing a run in earning his 17th save.
New Hampshire (40-38) managed only six hits in the game, one of them an eighth inning single by first baseman Clint Johnston, extending his hitting streak to ten games. Second baseman Ryan Roberts had two hits.
The Fisher Cats return home to play the Altoona Curve Friday night, the start of a three-game weekend series. Right hander Ismael Ramirez (5-8, 3.89) will start the opener against Altoona right hander Paul Stewart (4-7, 4.56). Game time is 6:35pm and featured entertainment will be provided by "Dancing Christopher."
