ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Express returns to Dell Diamond Thursday, July 4 for a seven-game homestand with four games against the Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City Royals affiliate) followed by three games against the Oklahoma City RedHawks (Houston Astros affiliate).
This is the second trip of the season to Dell Diamond for Omaha as they were here for the opening series, but the first for Oklahoma City.
The fun kicks off Thursday with the start of Red, White and Blue Weekend, a three-day, post-game fireworks extravaganza. It is also The Original Thirsty Thursday, presented by Firetrol Protection Systems, featuring discounted draft beer and $1 sodas. Friday will continue the spectacular fireworks display following the conclusion of the game with Friday Fireworks, presented by Budweiser. Saturday will conclude Red, White and Blue Weekend as the Central Texas sky will light up for the third consecutive night following the Express and Storm Chasers game. Round Rock will conclude the series with Omaha Sunday night on H-E-B Kid's Day featuring kiddie train rides, interactive inflatable games, a post-game run of the bases and much more! Also on Sunday, musician Joe McDermott will perform a pre-game concert exclusively for Junior Sluggers members on the field.
The Storm Chasers will bring five of the Royals' top 20 prospects according to MLB.com including No. 3 RHP Yordano Ventura, No. 7 Donnie Joseph, No. 10 INF Christian Colon, No. 16 LHP Chris Dwyer and No. 20 Maikel Cleto.
Following the four-game set with Omaha, the Express will welcome Oklahoma City to Round Rock for a three-game series to conclude the homestand. The RedHawks and Express will square off in game one on Monday, July 8 at 7:05 p.m. featuring $1.00 hot dogs and sodas, presented by Mrs Baird's. The middle game of the three-game set will begin at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9 which will be Turn Back Tuesday, presented by Cedar Park Premier Dentistry as the Express will don their 1959 Austin Senators jerseys while all tickets will be half price. The series finale will take place Wednesday, July 10 at 7:05 on Winning Wednesday, presented by the Texas Lottery which will feature game show style promotions throughout the evening from your host Ballpark Rob Barker.
Oklahoma City rosters eight of the top 20 MLB.com organizational prospects of the Astros including No. 1 1B Jonathan Singleton, No. 3 OF George Springer, No. 4 RHP Jarred Cosart, No. 10 RHP Brad Peacock, No. 12 SS Jonathan Villar, No. 15 RHP Asher Wojciechowski, No. 18 OF Robbie Grossman and No. 20 C Carlos Perez.
