July 4, 2013 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Reno Aces News Release
Reno, Nev.-Matt Davidson homered twice on Wednesday night, but the Aces suffered a 6-4 loss to the Salt Lake Bees in the series finale at Aces Ballpark.
After falling to a quick three-run deficit, Davidson hit his first home run of the night in the bottom of the first to bring the Aces within one, down 3-2. His second longball in the fourth gave Reno the 4-3 advantage.
The lead held until the seventh, when former Aces outfielder Trent Oeltjen crossed the plate to tangle the game at four. Reno reliever Kevin Munson allowed a two-run home run in the ninth to give the Bees a final 6-4 advantage. Munson was charged with his first loss of the season for Reno.
The contest marked Davidson's sixth career multi-home run game, and the sixth for the Aces this season. He finished 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBI and a pair of runs scored, while striking out twice.
Mike Jacobs recorded Reno's only other hits of the night, going 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored.
Tomorrow the Aces hit the road for an 11-game trip, beginning with a four-game series in Colorado Springs. LHP Tyler Skaggs (6-6, 4.26 ERA) will get the nod for Reno, while the Sky Sox will counter with LHP Jeff Francis (0-2, 7.82 ERA). First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. PT, and all of the action can be heard live on KPLY 630 AM.
