
Everblades win 8th straight against Ice Pilots with 3-1 effort

FRESNO, CA - The Florida Everblades (28-14-3) improved their record to 8-0-0 over the Pensacola Ice Pilots (16-25-5) this season with a 3-1 victory on Friday night at the Pensacola Civic Center.
The Ice Pilots scored the lone first period goal when Bobby Cunningham tallied his third goal of the season at 7:57, jamming a loose puck past Everblades goaltender Phil Osaer at the right post.
Florida answered back with a power play goal in the second period. Reggie Berg, who was playing in his first game since opening night on Oct. 28, tied the game with his first goal of the season at 11:59 of the frame by lifting a backhand shot over Pensacola net-minder Todd Ford.
Anders Stome put Florida on top for good 4:01 into the third period wristing his sixth goal of the season inside the right post, and Brandon Coalter added some insurance notching his fourth goal of the year with six minutes remaining in the third period.
In goal, Osaer picked up the win by stopping 26 of 27 Pensacola shots to raise his record to 14-7-2. Ford suffered the loss for Pensacola allowing three goals on 33 Florida shots, which dropped his record to 10-16-1.
On the power play, the Everblades finished the game 1-for-3, while the Ice Pilots closed out the game 0-for-2. By killing both Pensacola power plays, the Everblades have now killed off 46 of 48 Pensacola power plays this season.
The Everblades return to action on Saturday, February 11 when they take on the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 8:05 p.m. from the Pensacola Civic Center.
