Christiansen, State To Hershey

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Doug Christiansen and defenseman Jeff State have been loaned to the Hershey Bears of the AHL. This marks the third trip of the season to AHL for Christiansen, who played a game with the Bears last weekend and was loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in mid-December where he picked up 5 pims in 2 games. Christiansen currently leads the Royals with 21 goals in 37 games with Reading. For State, who has scored a goal in each of his last two games for the Royals, this marks his third trip to the AHL this season. Both of his prior stints in the AHL were with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, where State has played a total of five games, picking up an assist in fourteen penalty minutes.

The Royals return to action on Friday night at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, South Carolina where they face the Greenville Grrrowl for the second time this season. Reading then returns home for a two game North Division rivalry battle against the Toledo Storm on Saturday (7:00 pm) and Sunday (1:00 pm). On Saturday night, the first 1500 fans 21 years of age or older receive a Samuel Adams Pint Glass courtesy of All-Star Distributing. On Sunday, the first 1000 fans 12 years of age or younger receive a CTCE Puck Bank and the first 2000 fans get Comcast Thundersticks. Royals' game day broadcasts can be heard on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata and www.royalshockey.com with pre-game beginning 30 minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available through the Royals' website on a pay per view basis provided by B2 Networks.
